More than 50 teams to take part in the 31st Antigua Rally de Tierra
The 31st Antigua Rally de Tierra was presented last night at the Sociedad de Fomento y Recreo, known as the Casino de Antigua, drawing large numbers of competitors and fans.
Mayor Juan Cabrera thanked all the fans and participating teams for attending the event. “This is a well-established, historic motorsport in our municipality, and I hope this year brings a great spectacle as part of the Antigua 2026 fiestas programme,” said the mayor.
The Councillor for Sports, Alejandro García, announced that this year, on Friday 4 September, there will be a spectator stage at the Museo del Queso. “An edition with more kilometres and petrol to burn.”
The event was attended by the president of the Federación de Automovilismo de Canarias, Miguel Ángel Domínguez, and paid tribute to two veteran drivers, Javier Santiago León and Antonio Alemán Suárez, with a historic photograph shown of one of them jumping his car during an Antigua rally. The presentation was hosted in style by Ernesto Suárez Gil.
