The vehicles feature automatic gearboxes and multi-purpose rear lifters to improve waste collection work
Pájara Town Council (Ayuntamiento de Pájara) has added two new lorries, fitted with automatic gearboxes and multi-purpose rear lifters, to its cleaning and maintenance service in order to improve waste collection work.
The Councillor for Services, Salah Chehaib, explained that the vehicles will mainly be used for collecting urban waste by emptying containers, helping to improve the efficiency of the cleaning service and ensure optimal hygiene and cleanliness in the municipality’s public spaces.
The first deputy mayor and Councillor for Town Planning, Alexis Alonso, stressed that “work has gone into pushing through the relevant tender specifications in order to provide a service befitting a tourist municipality like Pájara”.
Mayor Alejandro Jorge pointed out that the addition of this machinery allows the Town Council to carry out cleaning and maintenance work using its own funds, as well as renewing its fleet of vehicles.
The 22-cubic-metre Olimpus lorries, which feature a pressure selector, a hydraulic outlet and soundproofing on the hopper and lifter, form part of the municipal fleet’s modernisation plan, bringing new technology and resources to waste collection in all of Pájara’s neighbourhoods.
