Sworn Festivities in Honour of Saint Michael the Archangel
Tuineje kicks off today the celebrations marking the 286th anniversary of the heroic Battles of El Cuchillete and Tamasite in Tuineje, fought by the majoreros, commemorating the figure of Saint Michael the Archangel.
Today, 25 September, sees the traditional opening address (pregón), which will take place at 8.30pm in Tuineje’s main square, delivered by well-known local resident Antonio Marrero.
The commemorative events will run until 18 October.
