The works have gone out to tender, with full details available on the island authority’s electronic headquarters website
The Cabildo de Fuerteventura has put out to tender the sewerage and resurfacing works in Las Pocetas and La Corte, with a base tender budget of €2,455,085.38.
With an execution period of seven months from the start date, the works involve installing sewerage networks in both localities, as well as resurfacing the streets along which they run. The project also includes restoration work on the dry-stone walls found along the route.
The works are part of the Island Cooperation Plan for works and services under municipal jurisdiction, carried out at the request of Antigua Town Council (Ayuntamiento de Antigua). According to the president of the Cabildo, Lola García, “one of the island authority’s priority objectives is to improve the basic infrastructure and services provided to the population. We do this in coordination with the town councils, and in this case with a key project for the sewerage networks in this part of the municipality of Antigua, as well as improving the safety and accessibility of public roads.”
The Department of Infrastructure, led by Blas Acosta, is putting these works out to tender. The Department of Water, headed by Adargoma Hernández, is also involved in the project.
Interested parties have until 23 September to submit applications. Full details can be found at: https://sede.cabildofuer.es/eAdmin/PerfilContratante.do?action=verPublicacion&identif=7D27F321478C5E41
The project is being funded in part by the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN) and by the so-called “small agreement” (convenio chico) on hydraulic works with the Government of the Canary Islands.
