In October, 7,000 kilos of appliances, 12,000 kilos of household items and 3,000 kilos of scrap metal were collected from public roads
Pájara Town Council, through the Department of Services led by Salah Chehaib, has carried out clean-up work this month, removing a total of 22 tonnes of waste and 300 mattresses in Costa Calma.
In just three weeks in October, council technicians collected 7,000 kilos of appliances, 12,000 kilos of household items and 3,000 kilos of scrap metal, according to figures recorded by the companies PreZero and FCC, highlighting the scale of a problem that persists in the area, linked to the dumping of household items and other materials on public roads.
The councillor for services, Salah Chehaib, acknowledged the effort staff make on a daily basis and pointed out that there is a proper procedure in place for disposing of household items. He therefore asked for residents’ cooperation in keeping the town as clean as possible.
The Mayor of Pájara, Alejandro Jorge, said that “Pájara Town Council continues to make progress in expanding its cleaning services, and in Costa Calma very important work is being carried out in this area”.
The Town Council is calling on residents and businesses to make use of the cleaning service before disposing of mattresses, appliances and furniture. It also reminds residents that the municipality offers a free, dedicated collection service for bulky items and waste, which can be arranged by calling 928 54 07 11 in advance.
