The new edition brings together 30 establishments from the municipality and will offer more than 30 prizes for participating members of the public. Puerto del Rosario, 8 September 2026.
On Tuesday, 8 September, the seventh edition of the Ruta de las Tapas (Tapas Route) was presented — a now well-established fixture on the municipality’s gastronomic and commercial calendar, which will run from 10 to 19 September on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The presentation event was attended by the mayor of Puerto del Rosario, David de Vera; the Councillor for Commerce, Tacoremi Gutiérrez; and the event organiser, Carmen Umpiérrez, who outlined the main details of an edition that once again aims to boost local restaurants and draw the public to participating establishments.
During the event, residents and visitors will be able to visit the 30 participating establishments and sample their gastronomic offerings — many created specially for the occasion — at a price of €4.50, including a tapa and a drink.
During the presentation, the mayor of Puerto del Rosario, David de Vera, highlighted the track record built up by an initiative now in its seventh edition and invited residents to take part, visit the establishments and enjoy the municipality’s gastronomy. He also praised this type of initiative as a tool for boosting activity in Puerto del Rosario and supporting local businesses and the hospitality sector.
For her part, the Councillor for Commerce, Tacoremi Gutiérrez, encouraged residents and visitors to join the Tapas Route and discover the work and creativity of the participating establishments. Gutiérrez also stressed the importance of continuing to promote initiatives capable of generating footfall in the municipality and bringing new customers to restaurant businesses.
The event organiser, Carmen Umpiérrez, thanked Puerto del Rosario Town Council for continuing to back the Tapas Route for another year and highlighted the involvement of the participating establishments, as well as the companies and organisations collaborating to make this seventh edition possible. Prizes for establishments and the public The Tapas Route also retains its status as a gastronomic competition.
Participating establishments will compete for 4 cash prizes: the Platinum Tapa, worth €1,000; the Gold Tapa, worth €750; the Silver Tapa, worth €500; and the Bronze Tapa, worth €250.
The public will once again play a leading role. In addition to visiting the establishments and rating the different dishes on offer, participants will be able to enter for more than 30 prizes, which can already be found on the official Tapas Route website and will continue to be announced via its social media channels.
