For the third year running, Pájara Town Council, through its Department of Public Services and New Technologies, is organising the Pájara Gaming Fest, an initiative that brings together young people from the municipality for an event dedicated to entertainment, technology and education in the digital environment.
This event will take place this weekend, from 25 to 27 September, at the Morro Jable municipal sports centre, with free entry open to everyone.
The Councillor for New Technologies, Salah Cheaib, stressed that “this is now an established event in the municipality’s calendar of activities, marking its third edition, and it invites residents to discover a different form of competition that promotes values such as teamwork, strategy, creativity and the responsible use of technology.”
For the Mayor of Pájara, Alejandro Jorge, “this initiative offers a new opportunity to enjoy technology and video games from a recreational perspective, but also one geared towards learning.”
The programme will include tournaments, workshops on video game creation, basic drawing, animation, technological development and drones, as well as educational talks for schools and the general public on digital coexistence and wellbeing. Gaming zones will also be set up with computers, consoles, interactive challenges and virtual reality experiences.
Entry to the event will be reserved for schools on Friday, from 9.00am to 1.00pm, while the general public will be able to attend from 4.30pm to 8.00pm. On Saturday, opening hours will be from 11.00am to 8.00pm, and on Sunday from 10.00am to 2.00pm.
