Council asks Canary Islands Government to provide the necessary assistants to guarantee the continuity and proper running of the service
Today the Ayuntamiento de Pájara will send a letter to the Canary Islands Government’s Department of Education requesting that urgent measures be taken to provide CEIP Morro Jable II with sufficient staff and ensure the normal running of its canteen service.
The governing group’s request comes amid growing concern over the situation facing the school’s canteen service, after the School Council reported problems caused by a shortage of assistants and the difficulties this is creating in caring for pupils.
The Councillor for Education, Laya Batista, said: “We understand the concern of mothers and fathers. If Infant pupils were left without a canteen service, it would pose a serious problem for many families, so we hope the Department can find a solution as soon as possible.”
For his part, the Mayor of Pájara, Alejandro Jorge, said he was confident the situation could be resolved as quickly as possible. “The Town Council has always been willing to help, within our means, to find solutions to problems affecting our schools,” he said.
The Council is particularly concerned that this situation could end up affecting the continuity of the service for Infant-age children, given the difficulties this would cause for numerous families in the municipality.
