The Plaza de los Pescadores will host school workshops in the morning and a lunar observation open to the public in the evening.
The Department of Environment of the City Council of Pájara organizes a day on Thursday June 5 on the occasion of World Environment Day and the Oceans. The activities will take place in the Plaza de los Pescadores in Morro Jable, with the aim of promoting environmental education among schoolchildren and citizens.
During the morning, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm, local schools will participate in various environmental education workshops, where students can learn in a playful way about topics such as recycling, marine biodiversity, and solar observation, among others. These activities are aimed at raising awareness among young people about the importance of caring for the natural environment.
In the evening, from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm, the program will be open to the general public with a lunar observation workshop by Astro Ciencia Nómada. This astronomical experience will give attendees the opportunity to observe the Moon and discover curiosities about this natural satellite that influences life on Earth.
The councilor of the area, Ángeles Acosta, highlights the importance of this day. “We want the little ones to be the protagonists of change. Educating through play and experience is key to sow environmental awareness. We also invite all families to join the evening workshop, it will be an unforgettable experience,” she says.
The City Council of Pájara encourages all citizens to participate in this day, where education, science and environmental commitment come together in favor of the sustainable development of the municipality.
