Working together with residents’ associations and the public allows for continuous improvement across all the municipality’s towns and neighbourhoods.
Puerto del Rosario Town Council continues to consolidate a management model based on closeness to residents, transparency and citizen participation. In recent years, the governing group has kept up a steady schedule of meetings with residents’ associations from the municipality’s various towns and neighbourhoods, creating spaces for direct dialogue in order to hear first-hand about the needs, concerns and proposals of each area.
These meetings have made it possible to establish fluid communication between the administration and the public, helping to convey residents’ demands and to plan actions tailored to the reality of each town and neighbourhood. Likewise, the meetings have been used to report on improvements that have been carried out, as well as to give updates on the processing and progress of those actions which, due to their technical, administrative or budgetary complexity, are still under way or awaiting completion.
The council points out that this process of active listening has been essential for prioritising investment and developing projects that help improve residents’ quality of life, always through collaboration and shared commitment.
The Municipal Corporation wishes to extend special recognition and gratitude to all the residents’ associations in the municipality for the extraordinary work they carry out on a voluntary basis. Their dedication, effort and commitment represent a fundamental pillar in energising social life in the towns and neighbourhoods, channelling residents’ concerns and actively contributing to building a more participatory and cohesive municipality.
The council also wishes to thank the residents of those towns and neighbourhoods where a residents’ association has not yet been formed. Their participation in open meetings demonstrates their interest in contributing to the development of their communities and shows that improving the municipality is a shared responsibility between the administration and the public.
The mayor of Puerto del Rosario, David de Vera, stressed that «citizen participation is the best tool for building a municipality that grows in step with the needs of its residents. Listening, sharing, explaining and working hand in hand with those who experience daily life in each town and neighbourhood allows us to make better decisions and develop actions that respond to the reality of our municipality».
De Vera pointed out that «Puerto del Rosario is much more than its administrative capital; it is a municipality made up of towns and neighbourhoods with their own identity, which deserve the same opportunities and the same attention. Our commitment is to be present on the ground, supporting every action, maintaining permanent dialogue with the public and keeping residents involved in the progress of projects that are transforming their surroundings».
The mayor added that «the aim is to keep building, together, a more cohesive municipality, where closeness to residents is not just a way of governing, but a way of understanding public service.
Puerto del Rosario Town Council reaffirms its commitment to continue supporting the municipality’s towns and neighbourhoods first-hand throughout the ongoing works, maintaining direct and permanent contact with residents’ associations and the public. This joint effort will make it possible to closely monitor each project, report on its progress and keep incorporating residents’ input in order to respond effectively to the needs of each town and neighbourhood. Collaboration, closeness and dialogue will remain the foundation of a municipal administration committed to the progress of all of Puerto del Rosario’s towns and neighbourhoods.
