Connections between Puerto del Rosario, Antigua and Vega de Río Palmas will be expanded on 18 and 19 September
The Cabildo de Fuerteventura, through its Transport department, is launching special public transport services for the Fiestas en Honor a Nuestra Señora de La Peña, which will be held from 17 to 20 September. The scheme will boost connections with Antigua and Vega de Río Palmas and make it easier to get around during one of the main events on the island’s festive calendar.
Special services on Friday 18th
The Puerto del Rosario–Antigua route will have departures at 8.30pm, 9.30pm, 10.30pm and 11.30pm, plus a continuous service running from 1.00am to 7.00am the following day.
On the Antigua–Puerto del Rosario route, departures will be at 9.00pm, 10.00pm and 11.00pm, with a continuous service also maintained from 1.00am to 7.00am.
A special service will also be set up between Antigua and Vega de Río Palmas. From Antigua, buses will depart every 30 minutes between 8.00am and 5.30pm, while from Vega de Río Palmas departures will likewise run every 30 minutes between 8.00am and 5.30pm. In both directions, a continuous service will then be maintained from 6.00pm until 7.00am the following day.
Connections on Saturday 19th
On Saturday 19 September, special services between Antigua and Vega de Río Palmas will continue.
On the Antigua–Vega de Río Palmas route, departures will be at 8.00am, 9.00am, 10.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm, 2.30pm, 3.30pm, 5.00pm, 6.00pm and 8.00pm.
On the Vega de Río Palmas–Antigua route, departures will be at 8.30am, 10.00am, 11.00am, 1.00pm, 2.00pm, 3.00pm, 4.00pm, 5.30pm, 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
The Cabildo points out that card payments are not accepted on these services, although travel passes can still be used. Eating or drinking on board and using the luggage holds are also not permitted.
