The mayor of Antigua, Juan Cabrera, has announced that last week work was carried out to clean up the Agua de Bueyes ravine, after requesting collaboration from the Cabildo Insular presidency. A range of machinery and workers were needed to clear the entire ravine and make it passable for the local patron saint festivities and for events such as the traditional romería (pilgrimage).
Mayor Juan Cabrera thanked the island’s top institution for its support in carrying out this clean-up plan, helping the town look its best during these celebrations and clearing away vegetation and debris ahead of autumn and winter.
