The City Council of Puerto del Rosario has reported on the technical details of the execution and progress of the project for the integral modernization of the Risco Prieto Industrial Park, a strategic action that will have an investment of 3 million euros from the PICOS.

The informative meeting held between the councilman of Industry, Luis Chacón; the councilwoman of works, Ana Hernández; the engineer drafting the project; a technician of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura and representatives of the business community of the industrial area, who knew first hand the technical and functional details of the intervention and expressed their concerns.

The project includes important improvements to the industrial park’s infrastructure, such as:

  • Asphalting and renovation of road surfaces.
  • Regrowth and adaptation of manholes.
  • Adaptation of crosswalks to universal accessibility criteria.
  • Provision of new parking spaces for Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRM).
  • Improvement of the rainwater channeling network to prevent accumulations and promote efficient drainage.

The mayor of Puerto del Rosario, David de Vera, highlighted that “this project not only responds to a historical need of the polygon, but is part of a broader strategy of modernization of our industrial areas. We are betting on a more competitive, more accessible and better equipped space for our companies to continue growing and generating employment.”.

For his part, the Councilor for Industry, Luis Chacón, emphasized that “we are facing a dynamic and adaptable project, which has the capacity to respond to the needs and realities of the companies located in Risco Prieto, from the service sector to the automotive industry, including construction, food and household equipment. The involvement of the entrepreneurs in this phase is key to guarantee the success of the process.”.

The Councilor of Works, Ana Hernandez, added that. “from the area of Works we are committed to an intervention that improves the functionality and image of the polygon, without losing sight of sustainability and accessibility. The improvement of the rainwater network, pedestrian safety or the inclusion of PRM spaces are examples of this comprehensive vision.”.

The City Council of Puerto del Rosario, in coordination with the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, maintains its firm commitment to the industrial development of the municipality. This project reinforces the commitment to modern and sustainable infrastructures at the service of economic activity.

The meeting held with the businessmen marks the beginning of a stage of continuous dialogue and cooperation that will allow fine-tuning the actions and adapting them, at all times, to the real needs of the local business fabric.
