The training, led by filmmaker and lecturer José Luis Valdivia, introduced key concepts and tools for sound work in audiovisual productions
Fuerteventura Film Commission concluded this week the course ‘El sonido en proyectos audiovisuales’ (Sound in Audiovisual Projects), one of the training sessions included in the second block of its 2026 training programme, with more than twenty students taking part.
Running from 28 September to 2 October, the course offered a theoretical and practical introduction to sound work in audiovisual productions, covering concepts, equipment and various applications in real-life filming situations.
The course was led by José Luis Valdivia, a photojournalist, filmmaker and lecturer with an international career who is based in Fuerteventura, and who also founded the production company and media outlet IKAPIA revista/filma.
The Fuerteventura Film Commission councillor, Nereida Calero, stressed that “training is one of our major commitments to continue strengthening the audiovisual sector in Fuerteventura, enabling those who want to develop their professional activity in this field to gain specialist knowledge”.
“Having experienced professionals such as José Luis Valdivia allows us to bring to the island practical training linked to the real needs of an audiovisual production,” she added.
This course forms part of the programme driven by Fuerteventura Film Commission to promote the training and specialisation of professionals and anyone interested in joining the audiovisual sector. The programme focuses on different technical and artistic profiles that are needed in the development of a production, offering specialist training delivered by professionals with experience in the industry.
