As every summer, the City Council of Puerto del Rosario, through the Department of Culture, launches the Summer Film Festival, a cultural proposal that combines entertainment and coexistence in public spaces of the municipality. This initiative, already consolidated in the summer calendar, will tour various points of the municipality with screenings for all audiences and in an outdoor environment that invites you to enjoy the cinema under the stars.
The program kicks off on Saturday, July 19, at Los Pozos Beach, where two films will be shown: PawPatrol: The Movie, aimed at children, at 7:00 p.m.; and the British romantic comedy Four Weddings and a Funeral, which can be seen from 9:00 p.m. onwards.
The next event will be on Saturday,July 26, at the Plaza de El Matorral, with a double session also aimed at different audiences. At 7:00 pm, Kung Fu Panda 4 will be shown, and from 9:00 pm, La lengua de las mariposas, a classic Spanish film that invites reflection from a sensitive and educational point of view.
The series continues on Saturday, August 2, at the Plaza de Tetir, with Puss in Boots: The Last Wish at 7:00 pm, followed at 9:00 pm by the award-winning film Life is Beautiful, a moving story that has touched entire generations.
The closing of the festival will be on Saturday, August 9 at the back of the Church in Puerto del Rosario, with the animated film Dragon Keeper at 19:00 and, then, Mientras dure la guerra, Alejandro Amenábar’s historical drama set at the beginning of the Spanish Civil War, at 21:00.
The mayor, David de Vera, emphasizes that “this program aims to bring culture to the different neighborhoods and villages of the municipality, thus encouraging neighborhood participation and collective enjoyment of cinema, free of charge and outdoors”.
On the other hand, the Councilman of Culture, Juan Manuel Verdugo, highlights “the commitment to a varied selection that includes both recent titles and great classics, so that audiences of all ages can enjoy this entertainment with family and friends in a pleasant atmosphere”.
