On Monday morning, June 2nd, different agreements with various associations and groups were signed at the town hall.

Agreement “Smoke-free spaces”. The City Council of Puerto del Rosario, will collaborate in the dissemination of the prevention campaign of the Association, which aims to make visible the condition of “SPACES WITHOUT SMOKE” of establishments or public and / or private facilities. To this end, in addition to disseminating the prevention messages of the Association, the entity undertakes to promote the corresponding body to dictate the rules/regulations/ordinance necessary for the prohibition of smoking in their outdoor facilities, this being the main purpose of the collaboration.

Agreement with AFFA Alzheimer. The purpose of the agreement is the implementation of a care service for people living with Alzheimer’s disease, or other dementias in Fuerteventura, promoting cognitive maintenance through the work of the most significant intellectual functions for these people, and promote the psychosocial welfare of caregivers of people living with Alzheimer’s or other dementias residing in the municipality of Puerto del Rosario. The amount amounts to a total of 32,000 €.

Strong Yoga Agreement. The Wellness and Health Project 2025 is born from the mutual interests of the Fuerteyoga Association, the departments of Psychiatry, Mental Health, Rheumatology and Oncology of the Fuerteventura Island Hospital, all of them always related to wellness and health. This project with its four programs is adapted to the needs of the different people that each program contains and whose purpose is to allow these people to transfer everything received in the workshops, course and classes to their daily life, making them at all times participants in the classes / workshops and helping them to develop with contidianeidad all they have learned. The amount subsidized is 28.000 €.

Asomasamen Agreement. The project of accompaniment in Mental Health “Metamorphosis” was born in 2014. It is the only service of its kind, aimed at people with severe mental disorder, which is developed on the island of Fuerteventura. It is a project of individualized and comprehensive therapeutic accompaniment, which aims to provide continuity of care to people with mental health problems for the development of their personal autonomy and self-determination. Interventions with people who are part of this project are carried out at home and / or in their community environment, thus promoting a warmer and more comfortable environment for the person being treated.

It should be noted that over the years, the project has been strengthened and expanded in terms of geographical scope, the number of professionals and the number of working hours dedicated to it, as well as in relation to the number of people taken in and families supported. For an amount of €16,000

The mayor, David de Vera, said that “from the Corporation works with different groups that perform outstanding social work in the municipality, carrying out various programs and projects of general interest”.
