The meeting reviewed promotional activities carried out in source markets during 2026 and set out joint working lines for next year with roughly 71% of the island’s accommodation sector taking part.
The Fuerteventura Tourism Board (Patronato Insular de Turismo de Fuerteventura) held a working meeting today at the Hotel El Mirador in Puerto del Rosario with the island’s leading hotel chains and accommodation businesses to discuss plans for tourism promotion in 2027.
The meeting was attended by the Board’s vice-president and the Cabildo’s tourism councillor, Marlene Figueroa, together with representatives from Hyatt Hoteles, Livvo Hoteles, Elba Hoteles, Coral Hoteles, R2 Hoteles, H10 Hoteles, Erbania Heritage, Higos Beach Hotel and the Fuerteventura Rural Tourism Association. Around 71% of Fuerteventura’s accommodation capacity was represented at this technical coordination meeting.
The session reviewed the direct promotional activities carried out throughout 2026, which included presentations to travel agents in cities such as Warsaw, Katowice, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Leeds, Madrid, Barcelona, Gijón, Bilbao, Zurich, Hanover, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt.
The meeting identified direct destination presentations to travel agents as one of the promotional strands that the Board and the accommodation sector wish to strengthen in 2027.
The Cabildo de Fuerteventura’s tourism councillor and vice-president of the Tourism Board, Marlene Figueroa, stressed that “coordination between the Board and the accommodation sector is the foundation of effective tourism promotion. When we work together in source markets, the destination gains in credibility and in its capacity to attract visitors.”
The councillor also highlighted that “the experience of 2026 allows us to keep investing in direct presentations to travel agents in source markets. This is a line of work we want to reinforce in the 2027 strategy.”
The meeting lays the groundwork for continuing to coordinate with the accommodation sector on promoting Fuerteventura in source markets throughout 2027.
