💚🙌🏻 Puerto del Rosario Town Council is promoting a CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training course, an emergency technique that saves lives when a person stops breathing or their heart stops beating. This action is essential to help the affected person before health services arrive.
📆 Staff from the municipal Social Services are receiving this training every Friday, in different stages, to complete their training on the subject.
🗣️ Mayor David de Vera stressed that “all council staff should be trained in first aid, so they can provide a better service to residents should their intervention be needed.”
🗣️ The Councillor for Personnel, María Franco, said that “the Council carries out this and other types of training with staff, so they can develop their theoretical and practical knowledge alongside their professional skills.”
🗣️ The Councillor for Public Health, Rosa Rodríguez, said that “the island’s healthcare staff have demonstrated their professionalism and expertise on numerous occasions, which is why the Council is promoting the sharing of that knowledge and experience with council staff, so they can act effectively in the event of an emergency.”
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency procedure that combines chest compressions and artificial breaths to keep oxygenated blood circulating to the brain and other vital organs.
