As part of the cooperation agreement between the two entities, the Island Corporation has provided a storage space at the Pozo Negro Experimental Farm.

Adisfuer will donate food from its accessible garden, which it manages with the financial support of the Department of Social Action.

The Cabildo of Fuerteventura has given the Food Bank Association of Las Palmas a space in the Experimental Farm of Pozo Negro for storage, as part of the agreement between the Cabildo and the association to provide the Food Bank with the resources it needs on the island.

The Island Corporation and the association have held a coordination meeting in the Experimental Farm of Pozo Negro, with the presence of the president of the Cabildo, Lola García, the councilor of Social Action, Víctor Alonso, as well as Pedro Miguel Llorca and Águedo Pérez on behalf of Banco de Alimentos de Las Palmas. The Councilor for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Matías Peña, responsible for the management of the Experimental Farm of Pozo Negro, also participated.

According to Lola García and Víctor Alonso, the attention to people is one of the priorities of the insular government group, being important to provide the Food Bank Association of Las Palmas with the necessary resources for the actions they carry out in Fuerteventura. A work aimed at covering the food needs of the population in vulnerable situations.

For their part, Pedro Llorca and Aguedo Perez, the latter delegate of Fuerteventura of the association, explained that, through the delivery of food and toiletries, the Food Bank of Las Palmas serves in Fuerteventura the partial needs of more than 400 families, which means more than 1,000 beneficiaries. They thanked the collaboration of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, which contributes to provide this vulnerable population with a complete and balanced diet that they cannot access due to their precarious situation.

With the presence of Monica Montesdeoca, representing Adisfuer, it was also agreed the donation of food from the accessible garden managed by Adisfuer with the financial support of the Department of Social Action of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura. A project in which people with disabilities work and whose production of vegetables is donated to soup kitchens and non-profit organizations, with an estimated annual production of about 5,000 kilos.
