The series was filmed on the island by filmmaker Javier Fesser and has received a dozen awards at national and international festivals.
The series Predator, filmed in Fuerteventura, is being recognized internationally through various awards and participation in many festivals. A work that was shot by filmmaker Javier Fesser, as ambassador of the ‘Fuerteventura Plató de Cine Natural Award’ within the Notodofilmfest internet short film festival 2024.
Depredador has so far participated in a total of 79 festivals in Spain, Luxembourg, Italy, Croatia, France, Poland, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Morocco, the United States, Panama, Greece, the United Kingdom and Colombia.
As a result of its passage through festivals, it has reaped up to a dozen awards including the award for best short film at the festivals Getafe en Corto, Festival de Cine de Sigüenza, Festival Atlántico de Género Negro Tenerife Noir, Festival de Cine Fantástico Fanta Elx and Festival Algeciras Fantástika. It has also been recognized with awards for best editing, sound and makeup effects at the Raíces de Europa festival and best script at Getafe en Corto. The actor Pepe Jornada also received the award for best supporting actor.
Predator
Fuerteventura Film Commission, directed by Nereida Calero, and Notodofilmfest festival joined forces again with the third edition of the ‘Fuerteventura Plató de Cine Natural Award’. A category of the festival that stars the island of Fuerteventura as a unique film set, seeking to encourage filmmakers to use the landscapes of Fuerteventura to shoot their short films. In this edition, the award was sponsored by director and screenwriter Javier Fesser, who launched exclusively Depredador, his first ‘notodoserie’ for Notodofilmfest.
The series was filmed in August 2024 in the municipality of La Oliva. Through three episodes, it tells the story of Vilma and Cris, two friends who, in the middle of a trip through desolate lands, encounter the unexpected.
The cast is headed by Athenea Mata, Claudia Fesser, Maggie Balance, Pepe Jordana and Elisa Díaz, who bring to life the characters in this new Películas Pendelton production.
