The Patronato’s vice-president held bilateral meetings with companies such as British Airways and Jet2 Holidays, on a day that also saw the participation of the municipalities of Antigua, La Oliva and Pájara
The Fuerteventura Island Tourism Board (Patronato Insular de Turismo) continued its institutional programme today at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London with further bilateral meetings. The vice-president of the Patronato and the Cabildo’s tourism councillor, Marlene Figueroa, held talks with representatives from British Airways, Grupo Galaxi, Jet2 Holidays, Karpaten Romania and Bravo Tours Denmark.
The Patronato took part in the fair under the Turismo Islas Canarias banner, at the institutional stand run by Promotur Canarias, alongside the tourist municipalities of Antigua, La Oliva and Pájara and local businesses from the island’s tourism sector.
Fuerteventura has a new air route this season: British Airways’ connection between London Heathrow and the island, which will begin operating on 13 December with two flights a week.
Marlene Figueroa, the Cabildo de Fuerteventura’s tourism councillor and vice-president of the Island Tourism Board, stressed that “WTM allows us to keep in direct contact with the companies that market Fuerteventura and with the airlines that connect it to the island. It’s ongoing work that helps us prepare and steer each season’s promotional efforts.”
The councillor also highlighted that “we come to London together with the tourist municipalities and local businesses, because promoting the destination is a joint effort.”
The Patronato’s programme at WTM will continue tomorrow, on the fair’s final day.
