La Oliva Town Council, through its Commerce Department headed by Alexandra Martín, will hold the third edition of “Los Lajares de Tapeo 2026” on 6 and 7 November, an event that will once again turn Los Lajares’ public square into a meeting point for local gastronomy, local trade, music and activities for the whole family.
The event will feature 22 food and drink establishments from various parts of the island, including 10 from Los Lajares, five from Corralejo, five from El Cotillo, one from Villaverde and one from Jandía.
The programme will kick off on Friday 6 November at 5.00pm with the opening of the food stalls, which will remain open until 12.30am. The evening will include a children’s cheese-making workshop led by Mario Benítez, performances by Parranda + del Norte and Mejor con Copas, and, closing out the night, the Dúo Fantasía (Flor).
On Saturday 7 November, activities will get under way from 10.00am with a varied programme. Visitors will be able to enjoy the Asociación Relajarte craft market, a ham-tasting workshop promoted by the Local Development Department, the “Meet the furry friends from the municipal shelter” activity run by the Public Health Department, as well as various children’s workshops and dedicated spaces for younger audiences. The food stalls will be open from 1.00pm.
The day will continue with a prize-giving ceremony at 6.00pm, followed by a musical programme featuring Parranda La Serena, Grupo Tabajoste and Laly Lean, who will bring this third edition to a close.
The initiative is organised by La Oliva Town Council’s Commerce Department, with the collaboration of the FuerteGourmet Association, which helps organise the event, and the Relajarte Association, responsible for the craft market that will be running throughout Saturday.
La Oliva’s mayor, Isaí Blanco, said: “We are presenting the third edition of this gastronomic gathering in Los Lajares, and we invite all residents and visitors to the municipality to come and enjoy this event, which showcases local gastronomy, promotes our municipality’s businesses, and offers a weekend of varied programming for the whole family.”
Meanwhile, the Commerce Councillor, Alexandra Martín, noted that “Los Lajares de Tapeo is establishing itself, in its third edition, as an event that combines gastronomy, support for local trade and leisure. Over these two days, we want residents and visitors alike to enjoy Los Lajares, discover the variety of participating businesses, and take part in a programme designed for all ages.”
