The City Council supports the neighborhood lawsuit against the location chosen for the installation of a communication antenna in Antigua
The problem is not the installation of a Communication Antenna, but the place chosen for it.
– The Municipality of Antigua has offered the communications company alternative land and other sites away from the houses.
– We have held meetings with the company and the municipal legal services, says the mayor, Matías Peña García, in order to reach a consensual solution and not an imposed one.
The Antigua Town Hall supports the neighborhood demand against the site chosen by the communication company for the installation of a repeater antenna in Camino de Las Piletas in Antigua, a few meters from homes, families and hundreds of residents, says the mayor, Matías Peña García.
Together with the Secretary and the legal services of the Municipality of Antigua, the mayor points out, we have held several meetings, also with the company installing the communication antenna, requesting the cessation of this action in the vicinity of the houses and proposing other sites for its installation.
The company installing the communication antenna has rejected the proposal of the Municipality of Antigua, ignoring the neighborhood demand and taking refuge in the legal framework in which the action is considered of General Interest respecting the established legal parameters.
We reject the imposition of this installation in a location whose rejection has been transferred and expressed both by the neighbors and by the City Council of Antigua itself to the communication company, says the mayor, especially having offered alternative options.
Although the legal framework supports the installation company, the Municipality of Antigua will maintain an attitude of dialogue to reach an agreement, considering that a location should not be imposed, but rather the alternatives offered should be taken into account, concludes Matías Peña.
