On the afternoon of Wednesday, June 18, the photographic exhibition “Metamorphosis” was inaugurated in the House of Culture of Puerto del Rosario.
In this exhibition, the photographer wants to provoke the interest to think and wonder about the possible metamorphoses that occur in everyday life. In addition to the human interactions during the successive generations of ancient times that form the History of Cultures.
The mayor, David de Vera, highlighted “the number of images anchored in time that are added to an exhibition, which should be visited for the quality of the message it conveys and teaches us to value our landscape and environment”.
The Councilman of Culture, Juan Manuel Verdugo, pointed out “the variety of images of seabed, flora or landscapes of the island that invite reflection and to appreciate the environment we enjoy. A real metamorphosis that is worth a visit”.
The artist, Nigel Collingwood, thanked the city council “for the collaboration to carry out this exhibition that summarizes several years of experience, observation and enjoyment of each image that I want to share and transmit to the public”.
Nigel Collingwood, born in 1948 in Natal (Brazil), of British parents, has been in Fuerteventura for more than 50 years and has participated in many activities related to Tourism, Environment and Sport. He is a diving instructor and marine ecologist.
The exhibition will remain open until Wednesday, July 16, from Monday to Friday from 10:00-13:00 h and 17:00-20:00 h, with free admission.
