The Antigua Farmers’ Market returns this first Sunday of June
– This Sunday, June 1 from 09:00 to 14:00 hours, the Antigua square will once again host the Farmers’ Market.
– The parranda Juan Peña will encourage the purchase of local produce, from dried fish, preserves, sweets, sourdough bread, fresh vegetables, vegetables, mojo, cheese, spices and ornamental plants.
The Town Council of Antigua from the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries resumes the organization of the Agricultural Market in the Plaza de Antigua every first Sunday of the month, from June until the end of summer.
The initiative promotes and supports the consumption of local products from farmers, ranchers, fishermen, confectioners and bakers, among other trades, says the mayor, Matías Peña García.
In this first Farmers’ Market we will have the company of the parranda of Juan Peña, setting a familiar square, ideal to complete the pantry with fresh and nearby products, and adds the councilman of area, Fernando Estupiñán, as a novelty among the stalls, we will have a point of sale of sugar cane juice, crushing at the same time the sugar cane from which is obtained so peculiar drink.
The Antigua Town Hall from the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, provides free of charge to local producers a space and the assembly of stand, to ensure their comfort and shade in the square in the morning.
For neighbors, neighbors and local producers, resuming the Farmers Market is great news, held every first Sunday of the month until after summer, and concludes the councilman, in the spirit of keeping it until the end of the year according to budget and availability of the producers themselves.
