The distribution of funds will be 367,495.77 euros for the year 2024, which will be paid shortly, after approval by the Local Government Board, and 332,504.23 euros for 2025, and will benefit a total of 37 local sports clubs from various disciplines. The maximum amount per beneficiary is set at 20,000 euros, without exceeding 100% of the eligible expenditure, considering other aid from public administrations.
The mayor of Puerto del Rosario, David de Vera, said that “with this call we take a firm step to consolidate support for the sports fabric of the municipality, correcting the delay that had been occurring in payments to clubs and also calling and aid for 2025. It is a measure of real commitment to our sports entities, which are the engine of social cohesion”.
For his part, the Councilor for Sports, Luis Chacón, stressed that “this call reflects our willingness to work side by side with the clubs, facilitating the planning of their activities in advance and providing financial stability. We have also improved management, allowing the 2025 annuity to be paid in advance”.
The payment of 70% of the subsidy will be made by bank transfer to the beneficiary associations or entities, and the remaining 30%, if applicable, will be paid after the corresponding documentary justification.
The City Council emphasizes that this action responds to the desire to strengthen the local sports network and promote sports as a tool for inclusion, personal development and improvement of quality of life.
