The City Council of Puerto del Rosario, through the Department of Commerce and in coordination with the Contracting Department, and with the support of the Government of the Canary Islands, has launched the public tender to implement the ambitious project “Puerto del Rosario with smart stores”.

Companies interested in participating in this strategic initiative may submit their bids until July 7, 2025, at 11:59 p.m., through the Public Sector Procurement Platform.

This project is a firm commitment to the modernization, digitization and revitalization of local commerce, especially in the Open Commercial Zone (ZCA), with a structured investment of 312,440 euros in six lots that address from the reactivation of empty premises to the creation of commercial routes, business training and digital transformation.

The mayor of Puerto del Rosario, David de Vera, has pointed out that: “this project marks a before and after in the way of understanding and managing local commerce. We are committed to a more innovative, inclusive and sustainable model, which reactivates the economy of the municipality from what is close, from the everyday: our small businesses. We invite companies with experience and commitment to be part of this transformation.”

For her part, the Councillor for Commerce, Tacoremi Gutiérrez, stressed: “Puerto del Rosario wants to be a benchmark in the Canary Islands in the promotion of smart commerce. This plan not only focuses on urban beautification or digital tools, but in training, entrepreneurship, in generating new real opportunities for those who already are and for those who want to start. We encourage all companies to join this collective challenge”.

Axes of the project “Puerto del Rosario with smart stores”.

  • Lot 1: Reactivation of commercial premises Empty premises will be brought back into the limelight with aesthetic improvements, signage, training for entrepreneurs and rental promotion strategies.
  • Lot 2: Online directory of small businesses Modern digital platform for ZCA businesses to gain visibility and competitiveness, bringing their offerings to the public in an accessible way.
  • Lot 3: Training pills Practical training in key areas such as marketing, finance, management and equality, promoting the continuous improvement of traders.
  • Lot 4: Commercial routes Design and implementation of thematic routes (such as the Sculpture Route or the Unamuno Route) that connect culture and commerce, dynamizing the urban center.
  • Lot 5: Technical Office Supervision and coordination of all project actions, ensuring efficiency, quality and compliance with deadlines.
  • Lot 6: Audit Guarantee of transparency and proper management of funds, with reports in accordance with the regulations of public subsidies. Commitment to the present and future of local commerce “Puerto del Rosario with smart stores” is born with a clear vision: to activate trade from innovation, strengthen the sector’s capabilities, and turn the ZCA into a more attractive, dynamic and competitive space.

The City Council encourages companies with experience in these areas to apply for this tender and actively contribute to the economic and commercial development of the municipality. More information and complete documentation on the Public Sector Procurement Platform.
