The municipality of the capital participates with a stand that pays tribute to the lime kilns. After the inauguration on Thursday evening, May 1, the fair can be visited this weekend in the municipality of Antigua with free admission.
For Mayor David de Vera: “The Insular Crafts Fair is an essential event for those of us who believe in the value of our traditions, in the local talent and in the strength of handmade products.
From the City Council we want to show our full support to the artisans who represent with excellence our majorera identity. Their work not only beautifies our daily life, but also preserves history, boosts the local economy and connects us with our roots”.
The Councilman of Culture, Juan Manuel Verdugo, showed his satisfaction for a stand “that recognizes the important work of all those who worked and contributed to the economy of the municipality, and the island, through the lime industry, and those who currently work in the promotion, dissemination and promotion of the many lime kilns that exist in our municipality”.
