Residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a wide range of activities for all audiences from April 23 to 26.

The City Council of Pájara, through the Department of Culture, celebrates the International Book Day with a special program under the title ‘Between letters and music 2025’, which will take place from April 23 to 26 in different locations of the municipality. This cultural initiative will include a wide range of literary activities aimed at all audiences.

The Councilwoman of Culture, Raquel Acosta, points out that this is a proposal that was born with the intention of bringing literature to all corners of the municipality, “creating meeting spaces around books, words and music”. In addition, the councilor stresses that “during this week, residents and visitors can enjoy character creation workshops, tenths workshops, storytelling, meetings with authors and musical performances, among other proposals”.

The tenths workshops, aimed at those over 12 years old, are presented as an opportunity to learn and practice this traditional form of improvised poetry. Places are limited, so we recommend those interested to register in advance through the channels of the Department of Culture.

Likewise, the councilor emphasizes that the City Council will continue working to make culture accessible, participatory and diverse. “Activities like this not only energize our towns, but also strengthen the social fabric, promote talent and generate new opportunities for citizens”.

On Friday, April 25, the inauguration of the Book Fair will take place at 11:00 a.m. in the lower part of the Plaza de los Pescadores, in the town of Morro Jable. Throughout the day there will be various activities, including book readings, literary presentations, cultural performances and workshops. As a final touch, on Saturday, April 26th at 8:00 p.m., the presentation of the musical-literary project IV Edition ‘El Poder de la Décima Espinela’ will be held by writer Emilio Fernández, in an event that will include the participation of several Canary versifiers.
