The City Council of La Oliva, through the Department of Primary Sector, directed by Rubén González, promotes the link of the local product in the tourism sector within the framework of Feaga. Through the new intermediary figure between professionals in the primary sector and the field of catering and hotel complexes, the Consistory promotes the work done by farmers, ranchers and fishermen in traditional meeting in Pozo Negro from 4 to 6 April.
In this sense, the stand of La Oliva will be filled with the most characteristic municipal products such as cheeses, wines and meat that will be presented in different showcooking throughout the days and that will capture the attention of visitors to the meeting. It should be noted, in turn, that the stand presented in Feaga is an environmentally conscious point, since it uses reusable elements for the tasting of local products.
The mayor of La Oliva, Isaí Blanco, highlights the need to bet on a sector such as the primary sector: “We can not forget that fishing, livestock and agriculture as these tasks has been our main economic source of yesteryear. At present, there are many people who are still dedicated to the sector and make our town enjoys a unique local product that deserves to continue promoting not only in Feaga, but also in the current economy of La Oliva”.
In addition, the councilman of the Primary Sector, Rubén González, explains the importance of having a figure that drives this promotion in the Department: “With this new incorporation we do something nonexistent so far, as we provide a point of liaison between the members of the primary sector of the municipality with tourism companies. This generates a synergy between both areas that allows one sector to work in favor of the other. Feaga is the best showcase to publicize this new approach and continue promoting those rich local products that make La Oliva a unique place.”
This action responds to the will of the government group to maintain its commitment to the fishing, livestock and agriculture sector, boosting its economic potential and promoting the local product among the tourism companies of the municipality.
