Innovation without losing its roots, the key to this edition’s success
The Plenary Hall of the City Council of Puerto del Rosario hosted on Wednesday the closing ceremony of the VI Tapas Route of Puerto del Rosario, a gastronomic event already consolidated in the calendar, which this year has had a record participation of both establishments and consumers.
In a festive atmosphere and in recognition of local culinary talent, awards were presented to the best tapas of this edition:
- Tapa Platinum: “Entre Carbón” of the restaurant La Bahía de Puerto Lajas, which will represent Fuerteventura in the preselection of the National Contest of Pinchos.
- Tapa Oro: “Chacho…Tómate el caldo” from 5 Sentidos, Arroces y Tapas.
- Silver Tapa: “Mini Tarta Gofigo” of Condumio Gourmet.
- Bronze Tapa: “Bola Bondiola” of A Mi Manera Gastrobar.
- Special mention to the popular tapa: The Influencer Restaurant.
- Accésit to the Canarian tapa: Restobar Terra.
- Second prize for the original tapa: Huga Cafegastrotapas.
During the event, a well-deserved tribute was also paid to Alexis Morales, head of El Invernadero Restaurant, for his brave and differentiating bet by offering a 100% vegan and gluten-free gastronomic proposal. The establishment has recently been recognized as a Solete of the Repsol Guide, a milestone that highlights the culinary diversity of the municipality.
The professional jury of this edition was composed of renowned figures in the gastronomic field:
- Diana Marcelino, head chef at El Secreto de Chimiche Restaurant, awarded with a Sol Repsol.
- Macarena Sánchez, manager of the Association of Industrial Olive Oil Mills of Córdoba.
- José Manuel Bajo, general secretary of the Baena DO.
The ceremony was conducted by the gastronomic divulgator Carmen Ordiz, with the general organization in charge of Carmen Umpiérrez, director of the Tapas Route event.
In the words of the mayor of Puerto del Rosario, David de Vera, “this route is already a benchmark in the revitalization of the hospitality sector of the municipality and a sample of the talent and creativity of our chefs. Betting on local gastronomy is betting on the identity, employment and culture of our people”.
For her part, the councilor of Commerce, Tacoremi Gutiérrez, stressed that “the high participation of this edition, with more than 500 completed voting cards, shows that citizens respond to the proposals that invigorate our trade and promote local consumption. We thank all the participating restaurants for their involvement and effort”.
From the City Council of Puerto del Rosario congratulates all the winners and participants for their contribution to the success of this sixth edition, and reiterates the institutional commitment to the promotion of trade and local cuisine.
