Dance of Strings this Sunday at the Senior Center of Antigua
– The Baile de Cuerdas on Sunday afternoon will be preceded by a starter and tasting of sancocho canario at 2:00 pm.
– It is requested to attend dressed in Canarian attire, being part this month of the events and appointments that commemorate the Day of the Canary Islands.
The City Council from the Department of Social Services opens the doors of the Senior Center as every weekend to enjoy the dance and music, this time of Canarian folklore with the rondallas of older Gran Canaria and Antigua, announces the mayor, Matias Peña, an appointment that adds to the many that enjoy and offer in this municipality to our elders.
The Department of Social Services organizes this Dance of Strings in the afternoon from 16:00 hours, says the area councilor America Soto, preceded by a toast at 14:00 hours for the elders of Antigua with canary starters, including sancocho canario.
The elderly of Antigua are invited, adds the councilor, until the capacity of the Center is covered, and we encourage to attend dressed in Canarian attire as the best way to enjoy and celebrate this annual and typical Canarian event, where the music of rondallas in the Baile de Cuerdas, assure us to enjoy in a good atmosphere, with friends and neighbors this Sunday afternoon.
