The Association of Entrepreneurs of El Castillo and Cabildo of Fuerteventura kick off the fair with flavors of the world and different activities.
The Association of Entrepreneurs of El Castillo (Aeca) today kicked off the international gastronomic fair Sabor a Castillo, funded by the Department of Commerce of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, which directs Lolina Negrin. The event is held on July 30 and 31, in the square of Caleta de Fuste, in the municipality of Antigua, with the collaboration of the City Council.
The event will feature a variety of activities such as food trucks area with flavors of the world, a gastronomic market, international showcooking spaces, live concerts and activities for all audiences. It also stands out for having emerged from a participatory proposal with the involvement of Aeca members, residents and local associations of Caleta de Fuste.
The president of Aeca, Eduard Van Der Veen, welcomed the public “to an event that has an extensive program, focused, especially, to value the zero kilometer product of the municipality, “within the work of the association to improve the situation of local trade in the area of El Castillo and the municipality”.
The president of the Cabildo, Lola García, highlights the firm commitment of the island corporation for the promotion of local trade, being “the livelihood of many families and the basis of economic activity majorera”. She also values the Cabildo’s commitment to initiatives such as this one, which energize the open commercial areas, generate economic movement and contribute to the social cohesion of the island.
For her part, the Councilor for Trade, Lolina Negrin, said that Sabor a Castillo represents more than a gastronomic event, since it is a celebration of multiculturalism and an important revitalization of the commercial area of Caleta de Fuste. From the Department of Commerce, explained the counselor, we will continue to support the commercial revitalization projects developed by associations in different municipalities of Fuerteventura.
The mayor of Antigua, Matias Peña, showed the willingness of the City Council to support “such initiatives from the Department of Commerce, led by Giuseppe Signorino, who is doing a great job”.
