The next training will take place on July 23rd, by geographer and researcher Vicente Zapata.

In addition, the social listening process remains open so that citizens can contribute to the territory in an active and participatory role.M

The project ‘Fuerteventura Protagonista’ continues with its
commitment to strengthen community participation on the island through
training in community methodologies. This
project, promoted by the Department of Citizen Participation of the Cabildo
insular, hand in hand with the General Foundation of the University of La Laguna, is
is immersed in a first block of training through seminars
online with the overall objective to provide the majorera community tools and
knowledge to become actively involved in local development and collective decision-making
.

The first three seminars have been a complete success
call: a total of 192 registrations, highlighting from the
technical team of the project the interest of the local community and their participation
to generate sustainable social change. Participatory techniques are addressed,
the facilitation of community processes and the collaborative construction of
solutions to the challenges facing Fuerteventura, “thereby contributing
to the promotion of real and effective protagonism of the community in projects and
policies that affect their environment,” explains the Councilor for Social Action, Victor Alonso.

The next seminar is entitled ‘Community Walks:
participatory diagnostics of the territory’ and will take place next Wednesday,
July 23, at 17.00 hours. The objective of this seminar is to know and
apply the community walk as a tool for participatory observation of
environment. It will be given by Vicente Zapata Hernandez, geographer, researcher and
professor of Human Geography at the University of La Laguna, director
of the Immigration Observatory of Tenerife (OBITen) and various projects
community intervention and social innovation, and
academic director of the project ‘Fuerteventura Protagonista’. The seminar
will have a duration of 2 hours, counting in this time with a final space of
dialogue. It is a free training and certified by the Foundation
Canaria General of the University of La Laguna. Those interested can

the months of September and October, will begin the next block of “training for the
action” in
community methodologies, which will be developed in person and
itinerant through all the municipalities of Fuerteventura.

AudiciSocial

Likewise, Councilor Víctor Alonso reminds that
continues to open the process of social audition throughout the Island, with the
objective that the community can contribute to the territory from an active role
and participatory. It is open to all ages, people and
groups, moving to all municipalities.
