The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the Departments of Education and Youth, as well as the area of Culture, has started the Digital Camps. A free program of extracurricular activities that is taught to 75 girls, boys and adolescents between 9 and 17 years, with the aim of promoting digital skills of young people and promote the responsible use of technologies. The initiative is part of the collaboration agreement signed with the Fundación Cibervoluntarios.
The camps have started this week at the Centro Insular de Juventud (Puerto del Rosario) and the Library of Gran Tarajal. According to the Councilor for Education and Youth, Adargoma Hernández, the participants will get practical training in digital skills, specifically on safe Internet browsing, privacy protection, effective search for information, creation of digital content and responsible use of social networks.
The Minister of Culture, Rayco León, highlights the value of an initiative that is essential for young people to be able to manage in the digital environment safely, combining learning and useful tools for the present and future of new generations.
