The City Council of Puerto del Rosario, through the Department of Culture, held on Tuesday, July 1, at 19:00 pm, the final show of the theater workshop “Interpretation Techniques”, which has been developing since last October in the municipality. The performance will take place at the Multipurpose Center of El Charco.
This workshop, taught by Professor Lolo A. Martín, was attended by fifteen boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 13, who for two days a week – Mondays and Wednesdays – and in sessions of two hours each day (four hours a week), dedicated their time, effort and creativity to learning different theatrical tools. For nine months they have worked with perseverance and enthusiasm on different tools of theatrical interpretation: imagination, emotions, scene construction, physical actions, text intention and improvisation exercises.
A comprehensive learning experience that has fostered not only stage skills, but also values such as responsibility, perseverance and respect for one’s own work and that of the group. The final play, “The Dragon’s Attack”, represents the closing of this enriching artistic experience. Getting on stage, memorizing a text and making it credible through play, emotion and concentration, has been the great challenge overcome by this group of small actors and actresses.
The Puerto del Rosario City Council publicly congratulates the students of the workshop for their involvement and talent: Carmen Hidalgo, Lisa Parrilla, Samuel Parrilla, Esther Flores, Valentina Vales, Ariana Vales, Jimena Verdugo, Enola Farías, Area Misa, Oriol Prados, Abraham Cabello, Dayana Ojeda, Paula Corona, Isabella Muñoz and Emanuel Muñoz.
The mayor, David de Vera, said “the importance of such activities at an early age, so that, from different municipal areas, special attention is paid to the implementation of various programs, both during the school year and during the vacation period.
The Councilman of Culture, Juan Manuel Verdugo, stressed that “theater not only teaches to interpret, but to live together, to express, to manage emotions and to work as a team. These types of workshops are fundamental to offer children spaces for growth where culture becomes a tool for transformation and learning.”
The Department of Culture invites families and neighbors of the municipality to accompany this young cast in their stage debut and enjoy an evening where enthusiasm, effort and creativity will take the stage.
