From July 3 to 6 there will be a complete festive program that pays tribute to the roots of the town and its people.
The City Council of Pájara, through the Department of Festivities, presents the festivities in honor of San Benito Abad in the town of La Pared, to be held from Thursday July 3 to Sunday July 6, with a varied program of activities for all ages.
The festivities start today, from 18:00 hours, with the traditional adornment of the village. Then, neighbors and visitors can enjoy a dessert tasting in a festive atmosphere.
During the four days of celebration, the program includes open-air dances, board games, musical performances, the popular barbecue, as well as activities especially dedicated to children, such as the children’s party, which will feature water inflatables and foam cannon.
The councilman of Festivities, Juan José Viera, highlights the importance of these festivities for the town. “These festivities are much more than following a tradition, they are an opportunity to get together as a people, share moments, strengthen our roots and feel part of something common”. Also, the councilman wanted to thank the involvement of neighbors for “actively participate in the development of these parties.
On Saturday, July 5, starting at 19:00 hours, the pilgrimage in honor of San Benito Abad will be held, which this year will be held as a tribute to Rafael Alonso Viera. The departure will be from the gates of Chilegua to the public square of La Pared, where the neighbors will congregate with their floats and traditional costumes.
To culminate the festivities, on Sunday, July 6, at 5:30 pm, will take place the Solemn Religious Function in honor of San Benito Abad, an act full of emotion and devotion.
