The Ayuntamiento will assess the damage caused to public furniture and file the corresponding reports to claim the cost of repairs
Pájara Town Council has condemned the serious acts of vandalism recorded on Halloween night in Morro Jable, where several young people caused significant damage to public furniture and other property. The damage included broken streetlights, burnt bins, and smashed bus windows after stones were thrown at them.
In response, Pájara Local Police and the Guardia Civil worked together to identify those suspected of being responsible for this anti-social behaviour. As a result of their investigations, several young people, all of them minors, have been identified, and their parents have been contacted.
The Ayuntamiento will now assess the damage caused and file the relevant reports to claim payment for the cost of the repairs.
The municipal governing group has stressed the importance of upholding coexistence, respect and civic responsibility. This kind of behaviour not only damages the municipality’s image but also causes harm that affects the whole community, as well as those responsible for the acts themselves.
The Ayuntamiento also wishes to publicly thank the Local Police and the Guardia Civil for their work, whose swift action made it possible to identify several of those involved. It also acknowledged the cooperation of local residents, particularly a group of neighbours in Morro Jable who held one of the youths until Local Police officers arrived.
Pájara Town Council reaffirms its commitment to protecting public spaces and reminds residents that respect for shared property is a responsibility for everyone.
