This investment responds to the government group’s commitment to the safety of the municipality.

The City Council of Pájara puts out to tender the project and the work for the refurbishment of the building that will house the future Insular Police Station of the Canary Islands Police, located in the Mayor’s Office of La Lajita. This action contemplates an investment of more than 500,000 euros, and responds to the commitment of the government group to improve security and provide the municipality with modern and functional infrastructure.

The project, drafted by the municipal technicians of the Technical Office of the City Council of Pájara, includes a comprehensive intervention of the existing building to adapt it to its new use. The facility will have all the necessary elements for its operation, such as changing rooms, lockers, dungeons, parking canopy, toilets, storage and a security enclosure.

The first deputy mayor and councilman of Works, Alexis Alonso, highlights the technical work that supports this project and the relevance of the investment. “The future police station will be a strategic point in the deployment of the Canary Police in the south of the island, and its execution is essential to strengthen citizen protection throughout the island territory,” he stresses.

For his part, the councilman for Security and Emergencies, Raimundo Dacosta, stresses the importance of having a police station of this magnitude in the municipality. “This work is a key investment to ensure a greater police presence. The City Council of Pájara continues to bet on continuous improvement in this area to ensure the welfare of the population, the priorities we have regarding the Local Police are complemented by these actions,” he says.

Finally, Mayor Alejandro Jorge emphasizes that the work is another example of the government team’s commitment to improving safety. “Since we began our mandate, security has been one of our priorities. This project adds to the measures we have implemented, such as the expansion of the Local Police, the collaboration with the Civil Guard and the installation of security cameras. With this new police station, we take an important step in our commitment to strengthen the security services of our municipality.

With the refurbishment of this new space, the aim is to optimize the available resources and ensure that Canary Islands Police officers have the best tools for their work.
