Amigos de Pájara, Camellito and Las Apañás teams qualify to compete in NeuroCanarias
Neuromajo 2026-2027 held its final rounds today at the Playitas Sports Resorts (Tuineje). Almost 300 participants from all the island’s municipalities competed throughout the weekend in the Relay, Aro Canario, Numbers and Letters, and Coloured Shapes events, in an atmosphere of camaraderie and active participation.
As a result, the three teams to qualify for the NeuroCanarias regional competition were Las Apañás (Puerto del Rosario) in third place, Camellito (Tuineje) in second, and, with the highest score, Amigos de Pájara.
The medals were presented by the president of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, Lola García, and the councillor for Social Action, Víctor Alonso, accompanied by mayors David de Vera (Puerto del Rosario), Alejandro Jorge (Pájara) and David Herrera (Tuineje), along with councillors from the department and other municipal representatives.
Neuromajo is a project driven by the Cabildo de Fuerteventura through its Department of Social Action, together with the Asociación Neurolímpica, with the involvement of all six ayuntamientos. Through a collaboration agreement, this year Padilla Supermercados Spar, Grupo Barceló and Dany Sport have also joined in, helping to promote active ageing among older people.
The NeuroCanarias 2026 regional competition will take place on 20, 21 and 22 November in the municipality of Pájara, bringing together the best teams from across the Archipelago.
To round off the season, the Palacio de Formación y Congresos de Fuerteventura (Puerto del Rosario) will host the NeuroMajo 2026 Gala on 6 February 2027, to recognise the effort made throughout the season.
