The City Council of Puerto del Rosario has begun work on the installation of 43 new photovoltaic streetlights in different villages of the municipality, thus reinforcing its commitment to a development model that is committed to energy efficiency, care for the environment and improving the quality of life in rural areas.
Efficient lighting adapted to rural environments.
Mayor Davidde Vera stressed the importance of this type of initiative: “With these photovoltaic street lights, our villages will have a modern, efficient lighting system adapted to their characteristics. Not only do they allow access to quality light without requiring large electrical infrastructures, but they also represent significant savings in energy and maintenance costs. We are using the ‘Villa’ model, a streetlight with a traditional design and aesthetically integrated in rural environments, which has already demonstrated its efficiency and visual harmony in previous installations in the municipality. These types of actions reaffirm our commitment to improving the safety, livability and well-being of those who live in the rural areas of the municipality.”
Transparent and efficient procurement.
The councilwoman of Contracting, Maria Franco, informed that the action has been awarded to the company SEDANE 2000 S.L., with a total budget of 78,349.49 euros: “We have carried out a rigorous and transparent procedure to select the company in charge of this project, and it has been awarded to SEDANE 2000 S.L., a firm with experience in this type of technological solutions. This contract includes both the supply and installation of the street lights, thus guaranteeing an integral service and an efficient start-up. From the Contracting area we continue to promote investments that have a direct and positive impact on the lives of our neighbors, improving basic infrastructures in a sustainable and responsible way”.
Clean skies, clean energy.
For his part, the councilman for Services and Towns and Neighborhoods, David de León, emphasized the environmental importance of the project:“These streetlights are specifically designed to be respectful of our skies, with a color temperature of 2700 Kelvin, which significantly reduces light pollution. They will be strategically placed at intersections and accesses to homes on public roads, ensuring safety without compromising the quality of the night sky, a heritage and tourist value in our territory. In addition, their autonomous operation promotes energy self-sufficiency and contributes to reducing the carbon footprint. With initiatives like this, aligned with the criteria of the Starlight Reserve, we take real steps towards a more sustainable municipality, also educating our rural communities in environmental values”.
With this intervention, the City Council of Puerto del Rosario takes a new step towards a model of public management that is more sustainable, balanced and committed to the territory and its inhabitants.
