The mayor, Matías Peña and the councilman of Works and Services, Juan Cabrera have visited the beginning of the works of expansion and improvement of the Antigua Cemetery.
The Antigua Cemetery Expansion project involves an investment of 750,000 euros, being the result of work begun in the previous legislature, details the mayor, Matias Peña, in response to meet the urgent need to expand the number of niches in order to ensure that all residents of the municipality can give burial and burial to deceased relatives and loved ones.
The action prioritizes the immediate expansion of 300 new burial units in the Antigua Cemetery, specifically 200 new niches and 84 ossuaries, as well as including improvements such as the installation of an adapted cold storage room or improvements in the low voltage electrical network, in the sewage network and in water management, according to the criteria established in the regulations on infrastructure of funeral services.
These works, after eleven months of execution, in addition to expanding space and modernizing the infrastructure and services of the office and toilets, says Councilman Juan Cabrera, will also provide better accessibility throughout its surroundings and interior areas.
The execution of the works does not prevent the passage of neighbors who want to visit the Cemetery, nor the development of religious services, maintaining the usual services and facilities provided by the Municipality of Antigua for beautification of tombstones or graves.
