The City Council of Puerto del Rosario, through the Department of Consumer Affairs, promotes the implementation of the Ordinance of Subsidies for Consumer Voucher Campaigns, an initiative aimed at promoting sales and revitalize the commercial fabric of the municipality, especially small and medium trade.

This ordinance establishes a regulatory framework for the different consumer bonus campaigns that will be carried out during the summer months, the Christmas campaign, Valentine’s Day, the Proximity Fair and other special dates that are promoted by the municipal areas of Economy and Finance, Economic Promotion, Commerce, Local Development, Festivities or Tourism.

Participation in these campaigns will be free for both merchants and citizens of Puerto del Rosario. The participating establishments agree to accept the official vouchers as a form of payment, benefiting from the increase in customers that this action generates.

David de Vera, Mayor of Puerto del Rosario, has pointed out that “the Bono Consumo is a strategic tool to support our small and medium trade, which is the real economic heart of Puerto del Rosario. We want citizens to bet on what is ours, on local commerce, and to do so with real incentives to revive the local economy and strengthen the business fabric”.

Who can participate?

Commercial establishments in the municipality are eligible for these campaigns, with the exception of those belonging to the following sectors:

  • Tobacco shops and tobacco stores.
  • State Lottery and Gambling Administrations.
  • Gambling, betting or similar parlors.
  • Gas stations.
  • Non-sedentary (street) sales.

How does the Bono Consumo work?

Interested individuals may purchase the vouchers in person at the place set up by the City Council, which will be announced on its official website. They will have a period of 15 working days from the publication of the list of participating establishments to purchase the vouchers, or until stocks last. This deadline may be extended, in which case it shall be communicated by the same means.

Each person will be able to obtain up to 3 vouchers, with values of 20 or 50 euros each. The City Council will directly subsidize up to 40% of the value of the voucher, provided that the purchase reaches at least the following amounts:

  • For the 20 euro voucher: minimum purchase of 20 euros.
  • For the 50 euro voucher: minimum purchase of 50 euros.

In the words of the councilman of Economic Promotion and Consumer Affairs, Juan Manuel Verdugo, “with this ordinance we lay the foundations for the Consumer Voucher to have continuity throughout the year, adapting to key campaigns such as summer, Christmas or Valentine’s Day. It is an effective measure that benefits both merchants and consumers, and that dynamizes the commercial life in our neighborhoods and urban areas”.

Direct support to local commerce

The main objective of this initiative is to strengthen the business fabric of the municipality, encouraging citizens to make their purchases in local businesses, beyond the large supermarkets. Through this program, the aim is to multiply sales and give visibility to the participating establishments, thus facilitating awareness of their product and service offerings.

The City Council of Puerto del Rosario reaffirms its commitment to local merchants and will continue to promote measures to boost the economic activity of the municipality and responsible consumption and proximity.
