Direct and indirect jobs linked to the service sector grow to reach the figure of 52,150 jobs. They are almost 1,500 workers more than in the same period of 2024, as reflected by the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (Istac) of the Government of the Canary Islands<strong>.V<\/strong>  <\/p>\n<p>The president of the Cabildo, Lola Garc\u00eda, values positively the employment data related to the tourism sector: &#8220;We cannot ignore that the tourism industry leads our island&#8217;s economic activity, so, from the public and private sectors, we must propose an innovative tourism model focused on quality and not quantity, which generates employment in our island and whose benefits are distributed to the people who live here&#8221;.
