It will be a day combining Latin rhythms, tropical sounds and new ways of interpreting Canarian roots music.

The daytime programme completes the musical line-up for this edition of Arena Negra, which will be held on 6 and 7 November on Gran Tarajal beach and will bring together national and international artists on the night-time stage, including Juan Magán, Rosana, Luis Fonsi, Delaossa and Los Secretos, among others.

The daytime bill champions diversity of styles and acts that connect with different audiences, with a strong presence of artists linked to the Canary Islands and the archipelago’s musical identity.

Andrea Rodríguez y la Banda del Trópico will present their show ‘Songo & Pambiche’, a musical bridge between the Canary Islands and the Caribbean that fuses genres such as merengue, cumbia, timba, salsa, vallenato and son. The artist has built a career linked to Canarian folklore and Latin American music, with her own works including ‘Trópico de Capri’ and ‘Navidad en el Trópico’.

Meanwhile, Kilombo Improvisado will bring to Gran Tarajal a festive show combining Latin rhythms, original songs and sounds familiar to the audience. The band, formed in the Canary Islands in 2019, is known for its interactive live performances, blending the energy of popular music with a strong Canarian identity.

Singer NIA, winner of the eleventh series of ‘Operación Triunfo’ and Spain’s representative at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival, will bring her experience in tropical music and salsa. Her career includes collaborations with national and international artists and a style that connects Latin genres with contemporary sounds.

ContraVentura, a project led by majorero timple player David Rodríguez Santana, ‘El Majorero’, offers a fresh take on Canarian roots music through the fusion of the timple and the contra majorera with styles such as jazz, funk, rock, flamenco and contemporary folk.

Completing the line-up is Timbeque, a musical and vocal group from the south of Fuerteventura that has toured the island showcasing the richness of Canarian and popular music. Their repertoire combines traditional songs from the archipelago, some of them rescued from obscurity, with Latin American melodies. The group incorporates instruments such as the Venezuelan cuatro and the Cuban tres, alongside the Canarian timple, broadening the musical links between both shores of the Atlantic.

A musical event in Gran Tarajal

Since its launch in 2018, the Arena Negra Festival has established itself as one of the major musical events of autumn in Fuerteventura and one of the highlights of the Canary Islands’ cultural calendar. Its stage by the sea, on Gran Tarajal beach, offers a unique setting where music blends with local life and an experience that goes beyond concerts, fostering encounters, togetherness and a boost for the municipality.

The diversity of styles and artists is part of the festival’s identity, bringing together different audiences and helping to promote Fuerteventura as a destination linked to culture, live music and shared experiences. The daytime programme extends this experience with acts that invite audiences to enjoy live music while showcasing both Canarian talent and the cultural connections between the islands and other territories.

The Arena Negra Festival is organised by the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, in collaboration with the Government of the Canary Islands and Tuineje Town Council. The daytime programme is also supported by Cajasiete and the Asociación La Gavia.

Andrea Rodríguez y la Banda del Trópico, Kilombo Improvisado, NIA, ContraVentura and Timbeque will perform on Saturday 7 November in Gran Tarajal

[58,288
69,187,190,82
post-35858","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-cabildo","category-cabildo-en","tag-eventos","tag-eventos-en","tag-fuerteventura-en","tag-fuerteventura
["GET
