On the occasion of the traditional festivities of the Sacred Heart of Mary, the City Council of Tuineje, through its Department of Culture, organizes an original Workshop of Flags and Bags in which neighbors and neighbors can customize their own creations to decorate the town during the festivities.
The workshop will be held on April 21, 24, 28, 29 and 30, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Tarajalejo Cultural Center. The initiative seeks to encourage citizen participation, creativity and a sense of belonging through art and tradition.
“We want culture to be lived in community, and this workshop is a beautiful way to unite generations around our festivities. Seeing people enthusiastically painting flags and bags that will later decorate the town, is an image that excites,” said Dulce García, Councilor of Culture of the City Council of Tuineje.
During the workshop, participants will be able to personalize their pieces with the traditional motifs of the Sacred Heart of Mary, the central symbol of the festivities. In addition to fostering creativity, the aim is to recover the value of craftsmanship and the collective.
The mayor of the municipality, Candelaria Umpiérrez, also highlighted the value of this type of activities for the social and cultural life of Tuineje: “These actions not only beautify our streets, but also strengthen our ties as a community. We are proud to see how the people get involved, participate and keep our traditions alive.”
The City Council invites all citizens to join this proposal that unites culture, faith and participation. The workshop is free and does not require prior registration.
