The City Council of Puerto del Rosario, through the Department of Beaches, reports that it has revalidated in 2025 the Blue Flag for three of its beaches: Playa Blanca, Los Pozos and Puerto Lajas.
This European label, awarded by the Association for Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC), recognizes the environmental quality and services of these bathing areas.
Los Pozos Beach has received this award consecutively since 2015, reaching a decade of recognitions.
Playa Blanca has been distinguished since 2010, and Puerto Lajas since 2012.
The mayor, David de Vera, emphasized that “this recognition is a symbol of the effort to offer high quality coastal spaces for both residents and tourists”.
The Councillor for Beaches, Toñi Fdez Aragón, stressed that “the Blue Flag is the most recognizable symbol for users of beaches and ports in nearly fifty countries, and a global standard of eco-quality tourism.
This award is given annually to beaches that meet criteria for water quality, safety, accessibility and environmental sustainability, ensuring a safe and environmentally friendly experience for users.
The city council continues to work to offer quality public spaces, where residents and visitors can enjoy our nature in the best conditions and with the appropriate infrastructure for each area.
