Divided into three distances, the race offered runners of all levels a unique challenge in the breathtaking landscapes of the south of the island.
The City Council of Pájara, through the Department of Sports, held last Saturday, May 24, a new and successful edition of the Tanquito Runner’s Race of Cardón, a race that continues to consolidate in the insular sports calendar. In this ninth edition, a historic participation was reached, with a total of 316 runners, an increase of 68 participants over last year.
The race once again offered sport and nature lovers a demanding and spectacular course, divided into three modalities: mini (7 km), medium (10 km) and Reyna (17 km). Participants tested their limits in a unique natural environment, running through some of the most impressive landscapes in the south of the island.
The Sports Councilman, José Benito Alonso, highlights the atmosphere experienced during the day and the increase in participation. “The Tanquito Runner’s race has established itself as one of the most outstanding sporting events in the municipality. From the City Council we continue to bet on events that bring sport closer to all ages and strengthen the link with our environment,” he adds.
The day concluded with a festive and convivial atmosphere, reflecting the commitment and involvement of runners, volunteers and organization, which make it possible for this race to continue growing year after year.
