The musician and parrandero Juan Peña is the town crier of the Fiestas of Triquivijate.

The Fiestas de Triquivijate comply with the celebration in the calendar of its patron saint festivities and are held from May 2 to 15, starting in the best way, with a crier that no one doubts and everyone knows, D. Juan Peña Cedrés, since I proposed it along with the councilman of Festivities, Pedro Armas, the whole Commission has turned to organize the best scenario and show to accompany a neighbor and friend, says the mayor, Matias Peña.
The festivities in honor of San Isidro Labrador and Santa Maria de La Cabeza begin this Friday evening, from 20:00 hours with the opening speech by Juan Peña and a popular toast of welcome, enlivened with musical performances by the Duo Voces de Antonio and Loly and DJ Valdivia.
The Pilgrimage will start at 18:00 hours from the town square this Saturday, ending with Baile de Taifas and Verbena from 21:30 hours with performances by the rondalla of the Centro de Mayores de Antigua, the Parranda de Juan Peña, Laly Lean and the group N’Klave.
Nights of celebration in Triquivijate, always familiar and always welcoming for everyone who wants to enjoy them, says the councilman, Pedro Armas, who highlights the work done by the neighbors participating in the Festival Committee, reflecting their involvement how good hosts they are and have always been.
The Fiestas de Triquivijate continue next week with card tournaments and popular events for all tastes offering Zumba masterclass and popular barbecue until reaching the main weekend, in which no shortage of children’s parties, the concert of Mejor con Copas, the early morning festivities with Gente Nueva, Nuevo Klan on Friday night, and on Saturday, Grupo Bomba y su Orquesta, as well as Arena de Gran Canaria and Banda Nueva de Lanzarote.
