– Antigua presents the IV Bola Canaria Tournament with fifty registered teams from Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Palma and Lanzarote.
– Antigua Sports organizes this new edition together with the host team Cacharros de Antigua.
This Wednesday morning, July 16, the presentation of the fourth edition of the Bola Canaria Tournament took place in the Municipal Consistory of Antigua.
The mayor, Matías Peña, the councilman of Sports, Samuel Torres, the councilwoman of Tourism, Kristina Rodewig and the president of the CD Cacharros de Antigua, Rafael Bilbao along with part of his team, have confirmed the very high registration collected, about fifty participating teams from Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Palma and especially Lanzarote, since only from this island fifteen teams have registered.
We are overwhelmed by the success of this Bola Canaria Tournament, said Rafael Bilbao, promoter of this sports initiative, supported from the very beginning by the Antigua Town Hall.
Its first edition already exceeded the expectations of participation, so we moved its organization to Caleta de Fuste, conditioning from the Department of Sports, more than fifteen tracks of Bola Canaria next to the sports center Arena Sport Center, recalls the mayor.
We also installed a tent or shaded area, so that the players, about three hundred people, can rest, eat or take shelter from the heat and sun, says the councilman, Samuel Torres.
The IV Antigua City Hall Bola Canaria Tournament will be held in Caleta de Fuste on Saturday, August 2 from 10:00 a.m. to celebrate the final in the afternoon, when the mayor, as is now tradition, will throw the bowling of honor in the game between finalists, concludes Bilbao.
